Volunteering as an Individual
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! We appreciate the community of volunteers and supporters who are interested in helping to grow the next generation of healthy kids.
We have a limited number of one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. We post open volunteer opportunities on our events page, but the best way to learn about new opportunities is to join our volunteer mailing list. To get started, please complete an interest form to tell us more about your skills and availability.

Corporate and Group Volunteering
Group volunteering with Edible Schoolyard NYC is a fantastic way to bring your team together for a fun, meaningful, and inspiring experience. We partner with leading New York City companies through one-time volunteer event sponsorships, and broader annual partnerships. We can customize our offerings to meet a variety of budgets and volunteer group sizes.
Our current volunteer offerings include:
Garden Work Days for teams of 8-25 volunteers. Led by our expert staff, volunteers have the opportunity to get their hands dirty to help us improve or maintain one of our school gardens in Manhattan, Brooklyn, or the Bronx.
In-office volunteering for groups of 10-50+ volunteers. We will work with you to customize a project to fit your philanthropic goals and budget. Recent projects have included packing backpacks or pantry bags for our school communities, creating garden signs for our school gardens, and more.
To learn more, please contact our team at development@esynyc.org to share any relevant information about the type of opportunity you are interested in, including your preferred volunteer activity, timing, budget, and the number of volunteers you would like to engage. We look forward to connecting with you!
Other ways to get involved
We offer a number of other ways to get involved, including paid and free events, fundraising opportunities, and more. If you have questions, or would like to offer pro bono services, please contact our team to start the conversation.
